Wither Studios is nearly finished creating their game, IMMURE: Inescapable Horror, a 2.5D psychological horror game. The heavily story-driven game is due to have an official release of its first chapter in May 2019. The development team released a demo in the summer of 2018 and ran a Kickstarter campaign in October 2018 to allow full-time development. Unfortunately, they did not reach their goal; they have, however, continued to develop the game in their spare time. This demo of the game was played during my 2018 Hallo-stream event.
Some of the controls are a bit unusual. The basic controls for sidescrollers (A and D for left and right) are standard. Additionally, Tab accesses your inventory, Space is used to interact, E will examine something, and LMB uses an item (F is for Quick Use). RMB is for aiming, V toggles what is equipped, and T is for using a trapezohedron.
The Lovecraft-inspired revolves around a man named Will who has awoken to find himself in a strange mansion with no obvious way to exit. During his efforts to find a way out, he is forced to travel to strange rooms and eerie dimensions, where he encounters various tormented souls. He may choose to save them, or he may decide to destroy them. Whatever he chooses will affect what he may — or may not — learn about where he is and why he is there.
