Another unlucky run, but at least when I upgraded the Ninja skull to the max I learned that it has areal skills different than the ones you perform on the ground. Even better the cooldowns of both don't overlap. Eventually I reached the powered-up hero who turned out to be the Hunter this time around. Usually she's quite easy to deal with, but in this form she fills the screen with arrows and light beams and some of her projectiles have tracking properties. She murdered me.
