Some people living near antennas are suffering from various types of conditions commonly mistaken for allergies. However, it should be kept in mind that non-ionizing radiation can stimulate subcutaneous cells such as mast cells. These cells release histamine, a molecule that produces allergy-like symptoms.
The following is Dr. José Luis Sevillano's explanation as translated into English by Orwell City.
================
Ricardo Delgado: Well, this question... We haven't started the round question yet, but it's interesting. It says, 'Can rashes be caused by radiation?' That would be the question. 'I have a family member who has skin rashes, and his room is next to an antenna.'
Dr. Sevillano: Yes, sir. That's been proven, and it's already known. I saw the articles a long time ago. I don't know if I saved the article or articles about it. This type of non-ionizing radiation is related to the histamine release through the mast cells, which are cells located in the subcutaneous tissue. If they receive radiation from the antennas, they release histamine. And this is a molecule that produces all these sensations: redness, itching... In other words, all that. The itchy spots.
That's what the antennae do. It just takes more than being exposed close enough for you to have these problems. Remember that I had a patient who had an itchy head and face when she went for a walk. And she walked near an antenna. These symptoms are typical of that.
But of course, I repeat for the umpteenth time: first, go to the doctor to rule out other pathology. Once he tells you, 'This is an allergy,' You'll ask: 'But... Due to what?' 'I don't know.' Then think about the antennae. Always remember the route you should take: first to the doctor and let him do a more or less exhaustive study.
And then, when he has already drawn his conclusions about the origin of the eruptions, we'll intervene. And we'll evaluate whether we're irradiated or not. If there's an antenna nearby the patient, it's most likely to be the cause. That way, we go with an 80% or 90% probability that the antenna is causing this type of problem. But first, you have to go to the doctor and do the study. To rule out other possible causes.
