It is interesting to note that the character of Satan first appeared as a demonic trickster in the Zoasterian Religion of Persia hundreds of years before Moses was born. It is probable that the character of Satan was incorporated into Biblical concepts along with the ideas of the immortal soul, Heaven, Hell, Personal Prayer, and the eternal struggle between good and evil, that were learned during the Persian captivity.
