SHARON (CBS) – A Hyde Park man is facing charges after police say he broke into a Sharon home and assaulted a woman at knife point while her three young children were nearby.
Multiple people, including children, called 911 from a home on Billings Street following the incident Thursday night around 11:30 p.m.
“She had words with him obviously to defend the children, and kind of tried to shield them, he took a glass frame and drove it into her skull,” said Dep. Chief Don Brewer of the Sharon Police.
That’s when Sharon Police Officer Richard Derry arrived.
“I encountered a lady who was all bloody, she’s screaming that her kids are in the house, there’s a guy in the house with a knife wanting to kill her kids,” Derry said.
“He opened a door where a child was in a closet or behind the door, and he was looking at the child and the child said ‘please I am too young don’t kill me,’” Brewer said.
