A Word on Elitism

Recently, Tommy Robinson was released from HMP Onley having endured shocking abuse by the UK authorities. I sent a series of paid-for emails to Tommy in the spirit of what Amnesty used to do, but I have seen no official statement from Amnesty. There were no approaches made by Amnesty concerning his safety. I see a human first, not their gender, not their political beliefs and not their sexual orientation. Can today's Amnesty claim to be the same?
Harvard Professor Steven Pinker said that Milo Yiannopoulus should not be allowed to speak on campuses because he is not an academic. The statement reflects how elitist and snobbish privileged people can be. Only restricting speakers to academics is to deny a wealth of knowledge and experience to those who could most benefit whilst also assuming that there is nothing to be learned except from academics.
