In this video, we show you how we designed and manage our odorless deep litter chicken coop at Balabac Palawan Philippines. The coop is made from indigenous materials found in the island and houses about 40 hens and a few roosters. We show you how we feed and water them and how in return they give us high quality soil and some eggs. The secret to an odorless design is the deep mulch which absorbs the moisture in the manure and prevent flies from smelling and laying their eggs in it. the dry bedding prevents the spread of pathogens and provides our chickens a healthy environment. Our chickens are our partners in the farm. We don't give them feeds for free. They have to work for their feeds by scratching and processing the soil for us.
