"Death is nothing" - Epicurus
****
From wikipedia and Google:
Epicurus (341 BC - 270 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher as well as the founder of the school of philosophy called Epicureanism. Only a few fragments and letters of Epicurus's 300 written works remain.

To me, this photo is stunning in the clarity and color. I have sat and looked at it for hours while working and find myself studying it endlessly. The blue of the sky and the mountains perfectly sets off the amber yellow of the columns and the green of the grass. The columns seem immense and stand like an ancient echo of a grand philosophical idea. I imagine the weight and the texture and how long they took to carve and move and what the Temple might have looked like when it was new. I am fortunate to have found such a perfect photo and honored to be able to use it for an equally stunning philosophical text.

I would guess this photo was shot using a polarizing lens, and suspect there was probably some digital color enhancement. Nevertheless, a stunning and masterful work of ART.
