Brain Teaser - The Die Hard Water Jug Riddle

Normally known as the Water Jug Riddle, the Die Hard Riddle became a popular alias because its feature in Die Hard 3.
In the movie, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson are confronted with 3L and 5L jugs by a water fountain. They then receive a phone call instructing them to place exactly 4L of water in a jug on a scale to disarm a bomb.
How do they do it?

Answer:

1) Fill 3L jug
2) Empty 3L jug into 5L jug
3) Refill 3L jug
4) Pour 3L jug into 5L jug until 1L remains
5) Throw away contents of 5L jug
6) Pour the remaining 1L into the 5L jug
7) Fill up the 3L jug
8) Empty 3L jug into 5L jug making exactly 4L

And that's how you solve the Water Jug or Die Hard riddle.
