Serenade No. 3 in D major, K. 185/167a "Antretter" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart completed this serenade in 1773 at the age of 17. It was customary at the time for students at the University of Salzburg to conduct a closing ceremony for the academic year. During this ceremony, the reigning prince is serenade, and then there is a march marking the exit of the dignitaries, alma maters and finally students. Mozart was awarded a commission by Judas Thaddeus von Antretter, the son of the chancellor of Salzburg, and as such would provide the serenade music for the ceremony in 1773.

This work is comprised of eight movements:
I. Allegro assai
II. Andante
III. Allegro
IV. Menuetto & Trio
V. Andante grazioso
VI. Menuetto – Trio I – Trio II
VII. Adagio – Allegro assai
VIII. Marcia, Andante
