Bernie Sanders has just removed himself from the climate debate by responding to criticism of his private jet travels with a quip of "we bought $5000 of carbon offset credits". The point is the CO2 is still in the air, no matter how much is paid, the added effect of more CO2 is more runaway global warming and extinction level event according to the same person who wants you to downsize and reduce you carbon foot print.
