MAN PLANTS ANTENNA IN HIS SKULL

Self-declared cyborg Neil Harbisson was born with achromatopsia, a condition that let him see only in black and white but now he says his brain implant cured it. The British-born man now has an antenna rooted in his skull and has been dubbed the 'world's first cyborg' and says there are many more to come. The sensor that dangles over the top of Harbisson’s head translates light waves into vibrations that his brain has learned to decode. He says the device now lets him ‘hear’ colors. Harbisson warned that governments need to accept the reality of people with technological, rather than organic, body part transplants and that cyborgs should be legally recognized.
