In the early 14th century Hebrew-Persian dictionary from Urgench (modern day Uzbekistan), it defined the land of Urgench as Ashkenaz. However we can't really rely on the Bible or the Torah, as the earliest first five books were written during 600 BCE to 500 BCE, in Aramaic language.
