Ottawa Targets Freedom Convoy Fuel Supply
Authorities in Canada have clamped down on the trucker protests by seizing fuel under the protection of snipers, and threatening to arrest anyone offering “material support” to the convoy.
Sunday’s declaration of a state of emergency has allowed Ottawa to cut through red tape, and facilitate supplies to law enforcement, according to Mayor Jim Watson. He added the crisis was "the most serious emergency our city has ever faced."
Seven arrests have been made as of Sunday evening, with 60 criminal investigations launched for mischief, theft, hate crimes and property damage.

Die Ausrufung des Ausnahmezustands am Sonntag hat es Ottawa ermöglicht, die Bürokratie zu umgehen und die Versorgung der Ordnungskräfte zu erleichtern, so Bürgermeister Jim Watson. Er fügte hinzu, die Krise sei "der schwerste Notfall, mit dem unsere Stadt je konfrontiert war".
