When Blasphemous came out with zero marketing (in NZ, at least) and almost no fanfare, I jumped on it on launch day because It's a Christian-themed Metroidvania, and I fucking LOVE good Metroidvanias. I double-love Metroidvanias with good Pixel Art. And this is a VERY good Metroidvania with VERY good art.
However, at the time, I was going through some serious internal shit. While I sat down and played almost 2/3 of the game in a single sitting, I remembered VERY VERY little of it, and a year later, something reminded me yesterday that this game existed and I need to actually finish it.
So, here's the first part: a nice big chunk of gameplay and exploration, up to the boss fight with Ten Piedad. Keep tuned, much more to come.
EDIT: Yes, the joke of "Penitent One's Commentary" is that he doesn't speak.
