Mozart composed this short motet in 1791 for his friend Anton Stoll, the church musician of St. Stephan in Baden bei Wienna. The motet is an adaptation of the Latin hymn Ave verum corpus (Hail, true body). Mozart would die later in 1791, making this one of the last compositions he produced.
