Schwab argues in his recently published book COVID-19: The Great Reset for “stakeholder capitalism”, the idea that capitalism should not just benefit shareholders but also employees, consumers, communities and the environment. Schwab writes on the WEF website that:

… the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a “Great Reset” of capitalism.

The WEF calls for nothing less than “a new social contract centred on human dignity [and] social justice”.
