CS recall. CS stands for continuous stim. The goal for CS is to teach a dog to turn off pressure. It isn’t used as a correction at this stage. We started off by priming Brady for recall, by saying the word and guiding him with the leash. We prime so the dog is able to understand what we are asking for once we start CS. We don’t use words with CS, which is why we prime first. CS is at the dogs working level and only at that level. Once Brady is far enough away to be recalled,we apply the stim, the stim is on until he completes the command. Again the goal with CS is to introduce the dog to the pressure of the e-collar and teach them how to shut it off. We use CS first with every command and then move to NCS.
