WARNING For Hastings-Napier: News Downplaying Rain Volume For Next Few Days
NZT 22 Feb, (UKT 21 Feb) UK-based Robert Deutsch, who accurately predicted how devastating cyclone Gabrielle would be, days in advance, warns in this (edited) report that it is going to rain so heavily in the Hastings-Napier region over the coming 5 days, that people are advised to leave.

There may be another mud flood event he says and this warning should be taken seriously.
He said he has seen the news reporting that 50mm of rain is expected, when it is apparent it will be over 100mm in some areas and even over 200mm further inland. The very high volume expected to fall inland, will naturally run into streams and rivers that feed into the already hard-hit region.
I found a NZHerald report dated 21st of Feb, titled: 'Cyclone Gabrielle: Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay in for more rain, MetService warns,' [1] which states: “MetService urges people to watch coming forecasts with heavy falls possible this weekend” and “Some long-range models the MetService relied upon on to make predictions showed a risk of heavy rain for the east coast of the North Island, with about 50mm of rainfall possible this Friday and Saturday."
And it continues: “Other [models] are more pessimistic,” MetService tweeted – with over 100mm possible for the central Hawke’s Bay shown in one model.”
Deutsch has found evidence that the totals of rain that are expected to fall are being reduced, so as to make it appear that the rainfall will not be at dangerous levels. He makes the point that rainwater will rise on top of the mud left by cyclone Gabrielle and lead to a far worse situation than that before cyclone Gabrielle.
Deutsch also advises in this report that there will be strong winds in the Cook Strait, heavy rain and an increased earthquake risk for Wellington.
He also offers that atmospheric aerosol/ chembomb/chemtrail deployment will greatly influence what weather is to come in the next few days.
