The other day was a great example of why really everyone should get a VPN. A user was doxxed for making a simple meme, and there have been rumors that Reddit actually gave up the person's IP address. This may or may not be true, as there is also reason to believe the user posted too much personal information himself, but the possibility is still there. A VPN will shield you from those who might want to spy on you.
