the rolling stones - you better move on - LIVE VIDEO NOW IN TRUE STEREO - stereo remix II
Edit 2 (live'64) for headphones, September 2022. Dubbed video. This is a mono video that I edited to get the true live stereo song in.
This stereo version was recorded live at Camden Theatre, London, March 19, 1964 during an experimental "stereo" tv broadcast by the BBC, one channel on mono tv, the other channel on mono radio to get a stereo sound.
It took me quite some time to get the live stereo version of the song into this mono recording, for it was a different Stones performance. A lot of cutting, pasting and so on. It is now a matter of time before for some brutal thief publishes this video elsewhere and who then claims HE did the editing... Happened before! Best thing to deal with this is to share this video with your friends. Please do!
To my big surprise it was only until October 4, 2022 that I found out that Brian Jones and Bill Wyman were singing backing vocals from 0.47 to 1.20 too; you can hear them only VERY faintly, but they are there. A BBC error, like so many... Ask Cliff Richard, he knows all about it...
The stereo song was for ages on various bootlegs, along with three other stereo songs of that day, until they finally - 48 years later, in an other millenium - surfaced on the compilation album "Grrr!" (super deluxe edition).
Rhythm guitar & backing vocals: Brian Jones. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Lead guitar: Keith Richards. Drums: Charlie Watts. Bass & backing vocals: Bill Wyman.
Source of the edit is the 1988 bootleg album "Get Satisfaction... If You Want!" by the bootleg label The Swinging Pig (TSP-CD-003). *
(I still remember the day that I found the cd and bought it... a second hand vinyl and cd market somewhere in Southern Holland...)
YOU BETTER MOVE ON
(Arthur Alexander)
you ask me to give up the hand of the girl I love
you tell me, I'm not the man she's worthy of
but who are you to tell her who to love?
that's up to her, yes, and the Lord above
you better move on
well I know you can buy her fancy clothes and diamond rings
but I believe she's happy with me without those things
still you beg me to set her free
but my friend, that will never be
you better move on
now I don't blame you for loving her
but can't you understand, man, she's my girl
and I, never never ever gonna let her go
‘caus I, yeah, I love her so
I think you better go now , I'm getting mighty mad
you ask me to give up the only love I've ever had
maybe I would, oh, but I love her so
I'm never gonna let her go
you better move on, you better moe on, you better move on
you better move on
