Cuphead The Delicious Last Course - Playthrough Part 4 (Ending)

The time came to give back the ingredients to Saltbaker and revive Ms Chalice. Predictably he double crosses you and has captured the soul of Mugman to use as an ingredient in his cake. The fight against him is pretty tough. In his first phase he starts preparing the ingredients while different food items fly at you. It's rather challenging to avoid them all, but using Ms Chalice's invincible roll can help you out of tough situations. One thing to keep an eye on is the flame, which constantly moves and then falls from the ceiling. The second phase requires you to attack some pepper shakers. It's best to stay near the centre since they can respawn quickly and spit some seeds your way. Next there is a brief moment where a jumping salty duo attacks you. Once you figure out their jump distance they are easy to dodge. Finally you have to attack his flying heart. Some randomness is present here, but the tracking shot really helped. Ms Chalice's super attack can work against this boss, but after performing it you leave yourself vulnerable to damage, so I picked the second super giving you a shield absorbing one hit. This was useful since the first 2 forms (and one could argue the 4th) are survival challenges with you having to dodge multiple projectiles. Completing the game you get a happy ending and the pleasure of seeing Saltbaker being punished.

Overall I really enjoyed this DLC. The new bosses are pretty good and playing as Ms Chalice needs a totally different approach to the game to the point where you have to gain new reflexes. The enemies are not as bullet sponge-y as some of the ones in the main game, but the last couple of bosses can still take a lot of damage. The minor issues I have are the same as the main game - at the core this is still a bullet hell game (not a fan of those) and the lack of health bar for the bosses can be a little frustrating since you have no idea how well you are doing so far and whether to experiment with different weapons and supers. If you liked the base game there's no reason why you shouldn't get the DLC.
