May sound strange but the vegans love these fruits that grow on dead trees and use them as a chicken substitute. The marinated artichoke hearts can be fried without a batter, but I went for consistency. Egg wash, then seasoned flour, then semi-deep frying ( not drowned in a pound of lard but rather half covered in olive oil and butter) with some lemon zest and Carolina Reaper Homemade Hot sauce. enjoy!
