Bells has been taken by the town, or what controls it to be exact. All adults are under The Shape's influence and just a few teenager were able to stand against it. Join up to three other players to investigate the happenings of the town at night and maybe, just maybe, they can rescue Bells before fleeing.
Horror is the target genre, but it isn't so much scary as it is startling. All the sleepers walk around attracting to sound with the only threats being your teammates doing something to garner the Shape's attention, who can only be seen by keeping your eyes closed. The only level available looks great with the atmospheric smoke, lighting and sound design selling it. Mission objectives will randomly generate in the level, but the layout will remain the same regardless. This makes the replay value rather stagnant as you will still be doing the same investigation (find three items), stealing from enemies and opening crates. The introduction is solid in terms of world building and the hub is well put together with skills, tools and character customization (extremely limited and relies on lootboxes to unlock more) readily available. No technical issues so far (a few stutters near the beginning at worst), but it does cause my computer to get really hot after playing it for a half hour (noticeable since it never heats up this bad when multitasking, let alone with one game). I cannot really recommend it for the price given it is just one area so far, but I cannot say it is a bad game either. Keep an eye on this one folks.
