About the number of 1,400 victims : that was the Jay report’s “conservative estimate” of how many girls were raped between 1997 and 2013. The crimes started long before that and have continued since, so Rotherham alone has far more than 1,400 victims, with only around the 50th largest Muslim population in the UK.
