PART 1
Sometimes you go out for all of your dreams and they end up turning into poop. Caca. Terd, terd. But hey, that’s better than just sittin’ around and settling for just getting by. At least that’s what Jessica Leia has concluded. And she will tell you, in comic detail, all about her dreams that went to poop, here on “Me and My Song” in PART 1 of this month’s Episode: “Just Getting By.”
Come see about all of the adventures surrounding this month’s song, “Just Getting By” and how they led Jessica to some pretty interesting places, like driving through burning forests. And to some pretty interesting people, like folks from Wiccan and Christian record labels. Yes: Wiccan AND Christian.
Moral of the story this week is to make no mistake; that Law of Attraction shit really does work. Just look out, because if you aren’t happy on the inside when you’re tryin’ to make a happy life on the outside, it’s very possible that you may run into things like black mold and termites, crooks at the DMV and fungus growing out of your ears. (P.S. You may also find that motorcyclists run into YOU.) … Not even kidding.
PART 2
Jessica Leia gives a recap on the wild and wooly circumstances that surround this month’s song: “Just Getting By.” Then she sings it for yu SOLO, in ‘The Raw Reveal’ portion of this month’s episode here on “Me and My Song” … “Just Getting By” is a waltz that Jessica will play for you, solo, on acoustic guitar. It is a ballad that seems like a cross between an old Irish folk song and something that “The Carpenters” may have sung once upon a time. The song is an intimate and tender tune about the internal struggles one faces when they acknowledge that their life hasn’t quite turned out the way they had hoped…
PART 3
We’re experimentin’ in the recording studio this week here on “Me and My Song”! Join Jessica Leia and Producer, Dean Kattari while they (and Mr. Rich DiBenedetto on percussion), take a previously recorded tune (that was a recording studio disaster), and bring it back to life! Muahaha!!
That would be of course, this month’s song: “Just Getting By”. You’ll watch as Jessica makes chicken pluck sounds AND has déjà vu while recording her guitar tracks. And also, as Rich shakes some ninja salt shakers on top of Jessica’s guitar tracks, (which naturally, reminds Jessica of doing hallucinogenics). You’ll also learn how to make sprinkle, tinkle sounds with hot rods (not to be mistaken for hot dogs). Warning: sprinkle tinkle sounds may lead one to feel as if they are in an altered state of mind.
There were no drugs in the making of this video, but there sure were some tasty basic tracks laid down… so tasty you could eat ‘em! … Depending on how hungry you are. Enjoy all these magical, behind the scenes moments! And remember kids: you can experiment with music too.
PART 4
Jessica Leia takes you on a quick tour of this last month’s musical adventures here on “Me and My Song”, and then she presents you with the culmination of this month’s musical adventures: “Just Getting By”.
PART 5
Well, just like in Season One of “Me and My Song”, we had to have at least one recording session go kaputs here in Season Two! So welcome to this season’s first BONUS SUNDAY, which presents to you a recording session gone wrong. There was no music used from this session in the final recording of this month’s song, “Just Getting By”, but that doesn’t make the recording session any less entertaining. SO, enjoy all of the madness (as in “crazy” and as in “being pissed off”) in all of these fabulous, behind the scenes moments and discover how and why this session ended up not turning out so well… Hint: It wasn’t because of all the dirty talk and inappropriate remarks. In fact, it probably had something more to do with that fact that everybody kind of sucked at playing the song. Good thing Jessica Leia was there to chew everyone out for not doing their homework.
