Video übernommen von Friedrich von Osterhal. - Der Vorsitzende der Bischofskonferrenz, Reinhard Kardinal Marx, hat 50.000 Euro für das geplante Seenotrettungsschiff des Bündnisses „United4Rescue“ gespendet. Das Geld stamme aus Mitteln des Erzbistums, die dem Kardinal aus dem Haushalt zur Verfügung stünden, sagte ein Sprecher des Bistums am Dienstag der Nachrichtenagentur epd. Das Bündnis sammelt nach eigenen Angaben Geld für ein neues Schiff, das der Organisation „Sea-Watch“ zukommen soll. Marx hatte bereits im Januar 2019 zwei Mal jeweils 50.000 Euro an private Asylhilfsorganisationen gespendet.

Der Ratsvorsitzende der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), Bischof Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, hat die ausdrückliche Ausladung von AfD-Politikern vom Kirchentag in Dortmund erneut verteidigt. "Die Entscheidung des Kirchentagspräsidiums ist gefallen kurz nach den Ereignissen in Chemnitz, die eine deutliche Radikalisierung der AfD zeigten", sagte Bedford-Strohm.
