Purslane
Scientific: Portulaca oleracea.
Is found everywhere basically and is edible. Highest in Omega-3 Fatty Acids (more than all other vegetables and some fish).
This plant DOES come with a warning and awareness at the end.
Enjoy and remember if you can't control it, eat it.
"Also present in purslane are two types of Betalin alkloid pigments, the reddish beta-cyanins and yellow beta-xanthin.
Both of these pigment types are potent anti-oxidants and have ben found to have anti-mutagenic properties in laboratory studies."
[Pro. West Pharmacol. Soc 45: 101-103 (2002)]

The first time I heard about this plant, I walked outside and in 20 seconds found it in the yard. It likes growing by the sidewalk or where it is very hot and dry. This plant is a medicinal freak. I cant believe it's not a staple food product. Then again, I know why it's not, because iwhats good is bad and what's bad is good, so we have iceberg lettuce which has no nutritional value(by comparison). I cant get over how this could ever be classified as a weed. And now, I dont believe any plant is a weed. Each plant is part of the creation and each plant has unique properties and traits, and is useful depending on if theirs an application for it.
I'm putting up an additional video about purslane, about the benefits. Check it out, it's amazing.
Just remember if you go looking for it, their is a look a like that is poisonous called scourge. Details how to identify and seperate the two are at the end of this video.
