President Trump Holds Press Conference 3/8/19 Michael Cohen Lied About The Pardon
President Trump said Friday morning he felt “very badly” for Paul Manafort, but that he has not discussed a pardon for his former campaign manager, who was sentenced to 47 months in prison.
“I feel very badly for Paul Manafort,” the president told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before departing on a trip to survey tornado damage in Alabama.
He said this “is a very, very tough time” for Manafort, 69, who still faces sentencing in a separate case next week in DC, where a judge could impose as much as 10 more years for conspiracy to obstruct jusce and defraud the government.
Asked about a possible pardon, Trump said that only the media have brought up the subject.
President Donald Trump criticized Democrats after the House passed an anti- resolution on Thursday, accusing them of becoming an “anti-J party.” The resolution, that originally condemned anti-Sem , was drawn up in response to comments and tweets from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
“I thought yesterday’s vote by the house was disgraceful because it has become, the Democrats have become an anti-Israel party. I thought that vote was a disgrace. If you get an honest answer from politicians, they thought it was a disgrace. The Democrats have become an anti-Israel party and anti-Jewish party,” Trump said.
