I decided to start learning how to make games, and I am a complete programming noob. So I decided to make my first game and projects on Game Maker just to get my feet wet.
I have a tiny amount of experience with C++, because my major was Computer Engineer when I was attending a university. However, I ended up dropping out to pursue other things, and now I'd like to start to pick things back up again on the side.
I currently plan to use Game Maker as a stepping stone, then I will move on to moderately harder things such as LUA or GODOT's language "loosely based on Python".
My first project uses the Drag and Drop feature for Game Maker, but since it is pretty limited and I want to learn code I moved onto using the engine's language GML. Plus, there is a lot more help and tutorials for GML.
