That may seem to be a silly question since we all know C19 corpses are piling up in ICU units, refrigerated trucks, and morgues. And every day there are surges of "new cases" and "outbreaks" everywhere. Surely, people aren't socially distancing, contact tracing, disinfecting, homeschooling, shutting businesses, and wearing mask diapers for no reason. Of course we need bureaucrats to tell us how to live our lives and restrict us to save us all from miserable and untimely deaths even if it means destroying the very fabric of society.
However, since we are told we must follow the science, scientists at the CDC say, in evaluating death certificates, "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death." https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm
That means, of the approximate 160,000 reported C19 deaths, 6% would be about 9,600.
Since that does not fit the coronadoom agenda, when this news hit, the internet was soon filled with debunkers. Their claim is that the conditions that attended C19, the co-morbidities in the 154,000, were the result of C19 and not the cause of the deaths. Thus, in their minds, the 160,000 C19 fatalities still stand.
No proof is provided that any of the 160,000 deaths are due to C19. In fact, the co-morbidities the CDC lists include pneumonia, influenza, respiratory failure, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, heart failure, sepsis, advanced cancer, cerebrovascular disease, stroke . . . all conditions that commonly cause death without C19 present.
Aside from that, there are many other reasons to doubt that even 9,600 people died due to Covid-19, maybe even none:

• People die all the time from no known cause. With, and even without a positive C19 test, these deaths are often now put into the C19 column.

• A 60-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound to the head. A 90-year-old man who fell and died from complications of a hip fracture. A 77-year-old woman who died of Parkinson's disease. • The presence of C19 does not prove death causation, particularly when 99.999 +% of the population survives with a positive test for the virus.
