Where does it really start? You need to look locally. Here in Alberta do you realize in some counties its illegal to collect rainwater in a barrel because its more than 3 feet deep. you're not allowed to buy a piece of land and go harvest your own timbers and build a cabin on it because it doesn't meet their specifications
and you didn't get their permit to cut the timbers. Do you realize you're only allowed to have so many chickens, you're not allowed to have a milk cow in some countires. Even your garden size. Everything is being regualated on a local level.
