Do you wake up in the morning and only want to go back to bed? Do you slog through your morning as though in a fog and consume caffeine to make it? Morning meditation is a good way to open your mind and increase oxygen flow to your body. It is not just a relaxation technique. Meditation is a welcome to the day.
For centuries, Yoga has strengthened and energized people all over the world. The religious aspects do help create a better sense of wonder and wholeness, but are not necessary to get the benefits of the yoga practice. Adding Yoga to the morning may help you find the wake up you need.
Morning exercise is also a great way to get the heart pumping, increase oxygen flow, and rid the body of toxins collected during sleep. Flush your body and mind and hit the day with new energy levels.
Don't want to hit the gym for exercise? A vigorous walk around the neighborhood is good too. Getting outside in the sun has an added benefit of providing some vitamin D. The morning air filling your lungs and breathing deeply will all add to getting you energized for the day.
Above all, stay off your phone and computer until your morning routine is complete. No checking e-mails or phone messages. No need to look at Facebook or Instagram. Just listen to this YouTube channel while your exercise and start your day.
