TRIGGER WARNING! If you want to avoid political and otherwise controversial topics, I encourage you to listen to the 30 minute music-focused version instead of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fZlAy_gtI4 I don't like politics and social ideology forced down my throat when I just want some R & R, so I provided you with some options.
FlightOfIcarus interviews Charlie Fell, known for his work with Lord Mantis, Cobalt, and Abigail Williams, among other things. In this full version of the interview, we discuss Charlie’s current status with Cobalt, his foot injury in Poland, the upcoming reunion album with Lord Mantis, burying the hatchet with old friends, past rivalries with the band Indian, scene politics, thoughts on addiction and other social issues, mental health, and much more. Again, if you are averse to listening to open discussion of tough topics, this is probably not the interview for you.
To be clear, this is just two people sharing and processing their own personal opinions. I do not claim any of the ideas expressed to be absolute fact or any form of a call to action. I am completely open to the idea that my own ideas may be flawed or outright incorrect. The point is that it is important to openly discuss varying viewpoints on these issues rather than stuffing them down. Form your own opinions based on hearing from a wide range of people from different backgrounds, and never take one person’s words as a reason to take action.
I am anti-violence, anti-harassment, and support all people’s right to a happy life regardless of background or beliefs. Please do not use any of this discussion as motivation to bully or otherwise harass anyone. That is not at all my intention. Also, if you have been physically harmed or had your rights violated by someone else, PLEASE do come forward to law enforcement and seek counseling if you feel able. There are good people that can help you, and I am in complete favor of holding parties within the rule of the law...
