Cannabis Plants Phosphorus Deficiency By Sonoma Seeds
PHOSPHORUS DEFICIENCY
Phosphorus is a water-soluble nutrients that is important to the plant's health. Phosphorus is needed for a variety
of catalytic processes in plants including photosynthesis and energy transfer. Phosphorus must be readily
available at all stages of life but particularly so for flower, transplant and rooting, phosphorus is crucial component
in production of ETP and organic molecule that is essential for iron transfer through cell membranes. Many things
like photosynthesis, development and reproduction are impossible to achieve without adequate phosphorus levels.
SIGNS OF A PHOSPHORUS DEFICIENCY
Phosphorus deficiency causes a variety of physical and readily distinguishable manifestations, since phosphorus is
immobile nutrients it is transported through older tissues to parts of the plants where it lacking, this
symptoms occurs first in older growth. The leaves turn green or blue color the explaination for darkening of
leaves is that phosphorus deficiency inhibits the plants ability to use carbohydrates. Although the plants
tends to develop more carbohydrates as a result of photosynthesis, they are not properly exploited. Carbohydrate
build up results in dark green leaves. Copper bluish or brown spots appears on this leaves and they curl back.
The leaves will turn tan or orange, thicken curl in strange patterns and die. The stem will turn purple or reddish
and the plants total growth is slowed. Reddish or purple stems are not a symptoms of phosphorus deficiency on their own.
SOLUTIONS FOR PHOSPHORUS DEFICIENCY
Increase bio-availability by keeping a pH of the acidic sight close up to pH 6. It is suggested that you use phosphorus
rich feed fertilizer. A strong organic substitute is fish meal or worm castings. Make sure your temperature are in the
right range. Cold temperature tends to make good phosphorus absorption more difficult and sure your not over watering
the plants. Using a phosphorus rich growing medium if possible use a well well aerated growth container such as air pot
to make the soil easier grow and yields. This would improves soil oxygenation levels, maybe any well rotted manure in your
compost would aid. The use of beneficial micro fungi can improve the general health of the soil. The microbes may also aid in
the conversation of less soluble phosphate into soluble forms that are easy to absorbs and yields by your cannabis plant.
