1979 College Football Playoff

The 1979 College Football Playoff would have pitted the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0-0) against the #4 Florida State Seminoles (11-0-0) in the Fiesta Bowl and the #2 USC Trojans (10-0-1) against the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0-0) in the Cotton Bowl, for a chance at National Championship in the Rose Bowl.
