A wildfire was reported to have broken out on Britania Mountain, near Wheatland, in southeastern Wyoming, on Sunday, August 26. By the afternoon, the fire, called the Green Mountain Fire by Goshen County Emergency Management and the Britania Fire by the Natrona County Fire District, was estimated to have burned 5,700 to 5,800 acres.
