Hi Every Sandman Here,
This video is brought to you by a donation from Rohim. He was more than generous so I thought I'd dedicate a couple of videos to him and talk about whatever the hell I want. Everyone needs to be warned that there are spoilers for the first four episodes ahead. Before I give you guys my review of Cobra Kai and why I think it's so popular let me first tell you about today's sponsor Body Transformation Made Simple: Anyways, now I want to give you guys my take on Cobra Kai from a MGTOW persepctive. While so many other shows and films that rely on nostaligia to bring in fans are destroying themselves, think of Ghostbusters, Star Trek and Doctor Who Cobra Kai, a sequel series to the 1980s Karate Kid Franchise is doing just fine on YouTube Red. How something like this that has so much politically incorrect language and what would be perceived as misogyny got made absolutely amazes me to no end. I suspect that the reason there is so much creative freedom is because Will Smith is attached to the project as an executive producer. He's also been very successful on YouTube so YouTube probably doesn't want to piss him off and destroy Cobra Kai and risk him leaving the platform because they are transitioning away from YouTube and moving towards UsTube. There are also twenty other shows in the pipeline in the next year and it looks like YouTube wants to turn itself into Netflix just as Netflix is starting to fail. But what about Cobra Kai. Why is it worth covering from a MGTOW perspective? It stars William Zabka playing Johnny Lawrence, a character that's been through the divorce rape meat grinder, living on the rough side of town driving a beat up 1980s Camaro. He's failed at life. His kid hates him and he's broke. But he runs into a Mexican kid named Miguel who's being beat up at school and he fights bunch of bullies that try to beat the kid up. After that he decides that he's going to become his Sensai and teach him karate. I've only watched the first four episodes so far and I understand why this show is so big. You have an entire generation of men like Johnny Lawrence that have had their lives ruined by divorce and bad circumstances. We even see him get fired from his handyman job at the beginning of show because the woman he was installing a television for gave him confusing instructions. She belittles his intelligence and he tells her off and gets fired. As for Miguel he never met his father and is being raised by a single mother. So here you have two male characters that have been the victims of a society filled with no fault divorce and they find each other and help each other heal their pasts and become whole again. Their races and backgrounds don't matter. What matters is getting through their pain and teaching each other. They are filling the gaps in each others skill sets. We also see Ralph Macchio playing the Karate Kid himself return to be an antagonist. Life has been good to him. He has a successful luxury car dealership. He has a wife that's so perfect that she's always right even when she's wrong and his daughter is the perfect too. The teenage nawalt that is both attractive and not a bitch.
