Chakra 3 - Manipura / Solar Plexus Chakra - Church of Pergamus
Manipura (Sanskrit: मणिपूर) Literally 'city of jewels.' The third primary chakra (bottom to top), located at the solar plexus (near the navel).
“This chakra collects the solar forces and nourishes all the other plexuses with them.”
― Kundalini Yoga
"And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges..."
Which means:
"And unto the angel (or Atomic Intelligent part of your Being) of (the cosmic forces congregated in the chakra Manipura – Telepathic center, receptor of thought - which in your spinal medulla is) the church in Pergamus (that is related with the solar plexus between the navel and the pit of your stomach, where all appetites or desires are created) write (transform the negative and positive emotional and mental impressions through comprehension and willpower); These things says he (the Word of God, the Truth) which has the sharp sword (the knowledge of the word enlivened by Thelema) with two edges (the exoteric and the esoteric meaning)..."
Manipura means the ‘city of jewels’ and is located along the spine directly behind the navel. Its element is fire, and it is depicted as a bright yellow lotus with ten petals.
It corresponds to the solar plexus, which is chiefly concerned with the process of digestion and absorption of food.
Manipura is the subtle centre which controls these activities as well as related glands and organs. It is the centre of vitality in the psychic and physical body.
People who suffer laziness, sluggishness or malfunction of the digestive system should concentrate on Manipura and try to feel the heat and energy radiating from this region. Power is the psychological state corresponding with this chakra.
In Manipura Chakra, the Bija Mantra is Ram, and the 10 petal sounds are Da, Dha, Na, Ta, Tha, Da, Dha, Na, Pa, Pha.
"Manipura is the third chakra of our spinal medulla. This chakra of our spinal medulla resides in the Nabhi Sthana (the navel area). The hepatic and splenic plexuses enter into activity when this chakra awakens. Ten yoga nadis emanate from this chakra. The color of this chakra is like a resplendent fire. The tattva Tejas is intimately related with this marvelous chakra."
― Kundalini Yoga: The Mysteries of the Fire by Samael Aun Weor
