Let the Mystery Be by Iris DeMent (Cover)

I can't put my finger on when I first heard this song, but it was probably close to the release date in 1993. I was at a time in my life when I had just left home at 17 and my dogmatic Pentecostal christian upbringing was being confronted by the realities of a broader world for the first time.

This song was one of those gentle nudges in the direction of rational thought. You mean there are people that actually believe in re-incarnation? And that maybe not everyone clings to the faith they were raised in for fear of damnation?

Thanks Iris DeMent, your song meant a lot to me.
