Jesus cursed the fig tree, then taught about prayer. You must remember that Jesus on prayer is always important and we must pause to read and understand why Jesus cursed the fig tree. Why did Jesus curse the fig tree? Jesus curses the fig tree, because it did not produce fruit out of season when the Lord of Creation was there. It was a higher requirement for the fig tree to produce fruit at that moment than during its natural season.
Jesus' ride into Jerusalem revealed many people who were ready to produce fruit on the day of the Lord's visitation. And even if you are unable to produce fruit out of season, prayer can produce what you cannot.
