The state of emergency, which was introduced in the regions of Kazakhstan in early January amid unrest, has ended. During this period there was a curfew in the cities, round-the-clock patrolling, restrictions on movement and a number of other prohibitions.
According to the UN, about 1,000 people were injured during the recent protests in Kazakhstan. According to the Prosecutor General's Office of the country, 4,578 people were injured as a result of the riots, 225 people were killed, including 19 security officers.
