These underrated fruit from the rosa rugosa shrub aka beach rose is much more potent than oranges and the native americans used this as a food source and medicine. Since this population is extremely low on Vitamin C this could be a good resource for those who are willing to forage for them. Plus since it is winter it is nice to think about the beach! Rose water is great for conjuctivitis and many other ailments. Has been used for centuries and the fruit of this plant is a great food source. Harvest responsibliy and plant some in your yard!
