This small country of 4 million and about the size of West Virginia has no army. They disbanded it in 1948. BUT don't let that fool you. Just because they have no standing army, which they are not prepared to protect them in case of an invasion.
My better estimates after making this video are that they have about 15,000 police force, and about 3,000 of OIJ. 20,000 armed security guards. Including my estimate of about 100-200,000 illegal guns in private households. So that put it at about 250,000 strong of armed fighters if called on to protect the country. BUT what is most dangerous are the 300-400,000 angry Ticos with Machetes. That is a force to be reckoned with. They will be the ultimate force against invaders.
