trissean_pr PORTLAND, Ore. — Authorities advised protesters to leave the area near the Portland Police Association (PPA) Saturday night or risk the possibility of getting arrested during a night of civil unrest.

Demonstrators got witnessed setting the PPA ablaze, which prompted police officials to use tear gas to disperse large crowds of protesters. The fire successfully got extinguished, and order got restored within the community, according to Portland Police in a tweet.

“Officers were able to put out the fire inside the PPA office and have restored order in the neighborhood there,” the department said.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum declared a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, as well as other federal agencies on Friday. Rosenblum asserted that federal agents unlawfully detain demonstrators and violate their civil rights.
