Note: all tracks recorded under the names Academy 23 or UNIT are the property of DNA Records and protected by copyright, regardless of who wrote the works concerned. This is a track recorded in December 2021 for our 49th album: Alone In A Quiet Place. Ronnie (full name unknown) was one of the youths involved in the Channel 4 series Jamie’s Dream Kitchen broadcast in 2011. I only watched it because some of the episodes feature David Starkey, my favourite historian and a national asset of incalculable worth as well as artist Rolf Harris, biologist Robert Winston, mathematician Alvin Hall, language teacher Mary Beard and poet Andrew Motion, 5 people who merit our attention. Sadly it also features Cherie Blair and Alistair Campbell, 2 of the most odious people on the planet. For their association with Tony Blair they (with Blair) deserve to be sent to Iran and forced into penal servitude until they drop dead through exhaustion. If Tony Blair did not lead the worst government Britain has ever had to suffer then I am a White Faced Whistling Duck.
Ronnie...you wrote a poem about your grandma...who died before you were born.
You spoke of stars...candles of the night whose light twinkled bright across the lawn.
I don’t know you and you don’t know me...so I’m compelled to ask myself why,
when you read your poem before your parents... ...it made me cry.
