Accidents in Paradise (1997, PC)

Accidents in Paradise is an action flight-simulation by German programmer Lutz Justen. It was published by German company Kelly Data Electronic Publishing. The game's story is a spoof of the movie Independence Day. In 2004, aliens appear from outer space, but it turns out they travel the galaxy to have fun, and their way of fun is hunting. So the aliens attack Earth. You take the role of Colonel Bär, who gets to fly the USA's most advanced jet fighters in order order fend off the aliens.
The game is played from a first person perspective, albeit there are some outside views for your ship. You steer your ship in four directions while increasing or decreasing speed. You can choose between two different ship at the beginning, new ships and weapons are unlocked over the cause of the game. With money obtained from fulfilling missions and shooting down enemies you can upgrade your ships. Sometimes, upgrades are useful or mandatory for certain mission, like a night view for missions at night or a camera for taking photos of targets. Money is also need to repair your ship and restock your ammo and fuel.
Missions are usually about shooting down all enemies, but there can be additional targets like protecting friendly aircrafts or taking pictures of buildings.
