It doesn't have to take FOREVER - Jeff Gellman Seminars

Getting your dog to stop a bad behavior does not have to take forever. Adding value to the word “no” does not have to take forever. The reason why so many owners struggle with this concept is because nobody enjoys doing it. Of course you don’t WANT to bonk your dog, correct high, or work your dog through discomfort—It’s not pretty. But we know where it will get us. We know it will create a better behaved, calm and balanced dog. The messiness is part of the process, but it’s typically quick. We don’t have hundreds of sessions of keeping a dog under threshold without clarity. We get them to the the end goal as fast as possible because we don’t want dogs to live in a constant state of uncertainty. We define “yes” and “no” very clearly and very quickly. Stopping unwanted behavior is the hard part, but it’s what is holding so many owners and their dogs back from a completely different life together.
