A crucial message expounding Paul's warning to the Corinthians not to be idolaters in the way the children of Israel were in the account at Sinai, when they fashioned a golden calf and named it "Jehovah." Israel's sin was not in turning aside to other gods; it was in redefining the true God of the Bible in terms that better suited them and their lusts.
