How to solve the Opioid Crisis in Canada: Practical perspectives and solutions

In our Agora Media / TOBJ.ca news magazine interview, Natasha Touesnard and Dustin Klaudt provide critical insights and a way forward which promises to save lives and the destruction of communities in the prevailing Opiod crisis. It has been estimated that ever day at least 17 Canadians have passed away as a result of the failure of political will and leadership across Canada. This unique interview provides perspectives which are lacking in so many interviews about the opioid crisis in Canada.

Natasha Touesnard is the Executive Director of the Canadian Association of People who Use Drugs. She strives to reduce oppressive societal conditions people who use drugs face by raising their voices throughout the policymaking process. Prior to this role, she was the Site Coordinator and lead Case Manager at the Open Door Clinic, a family practice and opioid agonist treatment clinic located in Dartmouth, NS.

Dustin is a Vancouver-based lawyer, practicing litigation, dispute resolution, legal and law reform advocacy, across the areas of administrative, commercial, constitutional, employment, environmental, estates, human rights, and international law.
